Registration of Dredge and Specified Machinery
Every person who owns a dredge or specified machinery shall register the dredge or specified machinery with the Commissioner, according to 206A of the Mining Regulations.
A dredge includes any suction or recovery device used in the extraction and recovery of minerals. There are three (3) types of dredges: land, river, and cutter head. Land dredges range from 3 to 8 inches, while river dredges range from 4 to 18 inches. Land dredges normally have two (2) engines and two (2) pumps. These must be registered and licensed. Other equipment used to supplement the main engines and pumps, e.g. bulldozer, backhoe, etc., must also be registered.
Specified Machinery includes but is not limited to air compressor, articulated truck, backhoe, ball mill, bulldozer, caterpillar, centrifugal concentrator compressor, concentrator, cone crusher, conveyor, crane, Doosan, dredge, drill, excavator, forklift, front end loader, grader, hammer mill, hoist, hydraulic excavator, impact mill, jackhammer, jaw crusher, jetting engine, lavador, marack engine, metal detector, processing plant, pump, rod mill, screen, separator, shaking table, tractor, truck, wash plant, water, wheel loader.
Who can register?
- Holder of a dredge or specified machinery
- An individual who is a citizen of Guyana and an adult
- A non-national who has a valid Work Permit
Requirements
- Application for Registration – Form 19
- Dredge or specified machinery
- Copy of a Valid form of Identification (National Identification Card or Passport)
- Copy of TIN certificate
- Serial number/chassis number and other particulars of equipment
- Company’s documents or business certificate of registration (in case of company/registration)
- Application fee GY$1,000 along with fee below based on specification for dredge size and specified machinery GY$1000
