The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), in collaboration with other stakeholder agencies (GGMC, EPA, GRA, and MoL), is currently visiting both existing and developing stone quarries across Guyana.
The MNR recognizes the importance of responsible quarrying practices and sustainable natural resource management. These visits offer an invaluable opportunity to assess the current state of stone quarries in Guyana, evaluate compliance with the various regulations, and identify areas for improvement.
By collaborating with quarry owners, operators, developers and other key stakeholders, we aim to enhance policy implementation, promote best practices, and safeguard the environment for future generations.
The MNR is committed to working with the stone quarry industry to ensure that it is sustainable and that it continues to contribute significantly to the economic development of Guyana and its citizens.
