Environmental Management Code of Practices

There are currently eleven (11) Environmental Management Codes and at a 27 February, 2018 Stakeholder Workshop it was agreed that there was need for ongoing education and awareness for miners and other relevant stakeholders, as well as field training in the application of the codes.

The Guyana Mining School and Training Centre Inc. (GMSTCI) Level 1 Course “Codes of Practice’ has been sensitizing miners and other trainers on the content and requirements of the codes since 2016. This publishing of the eleven (11) codes at this website: www.ggmc.gov.gy is a part of the broader Education and Awareness (E&A) Campaign that the Guyana Geology & Mines Commission is using to sensitize the mining community and the general public. Comments and queries on the codes can be uploaded at the website: www.ggmc.gov.gy

This publication in no way suggests these codes are now gazetted and in law.
